A Year of Beautiful Portraiture ~ Eloise’s Journey in Baby Photography

Watching any baby’s first year of growth and discovery is a joy, but when I’m able to tell the story of a client’s first year of life and beyond, it’s an absolute privilege. One of the babies I’ve photographed the most throughout her first year is little Eloise. In fact, I took her gorgeous mom’s maternity photos as well as newborn, sitter, mommy & me, and one-year portraits for Eloise.

Most recently, we celebrated Eloise’s first birthday with a spectacular watermelon-themed cake smash photo session. Eloise and her mom are both huge fans of watermelon (I mean, who isn’t? It’s delicious!), so we embraced that for the portrait theme.

You never quite know how a baby will react to the cake smash, but Eloise had a blast. Fun fact: the “one” prop was actually an art project we handmade for Eloise, painting it to match her fun watermelon theme.

Eloise’s sitter session was a wonderful experience as well. She makes a bright, springtime aesthetic look truly adorable. Her easy smile made the scene even brighter. Surrounded by foliage and lively flowers, along with hanging bulbs of greenery that I love, little Eloise’s natural beauty shines through.

I was also fortunate enough to have a Mommy & Me photo shoot with baby Eloise and her gorgeous mom. Mommy & Me sessions are all about highlighting a new mom’s journey into motherhood and giving them a chance to embrace their inner supermodel, and Eloise’s mom accomplished this with ease. The bond between this mother and daughter at such an early stage was so touching to see and to be able to preserve in these special portraits.
